Oh yeah! I *do* have a tumblr blog!

I must say i TOTALLY forgot about this spot!  And look what i’ve come back to…a follower, (hi Tracy!) whose blog i have been reading since i first noticed it on Facebook.  BTW Tracy, i meant to send you the link here when i first noticed yours because it looks like we started our blogs - which have a surprisingly similar theme - around the same time! Great minds! But, as the first sentence states, i totally forgot!

Enough with the exclamation marks.

I baked some cupcakes recently.  They were supposed to be Independence cupcakes believe it or not; blue cake, yellow icing and tiny black tridents sticking out of the top (thanks to the hubby for making the trident stencil that i never did use lol), but no matter how i added the blue food dye green was all i got.  So i made Roses instead :)

I was too lazy to ice the others (especially since it took several attempts before i got a good enough rose look), but i was very happy with how these came out!

Quotes: Mairanne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

The classic, Marianne Williamson.

God

I did not grow up in the Church.  The only time my family and I ever sat in a Church together was at a funeral. I found him as i grew, i’m still finding him. He is everywhere to me.  He is love.

tattoos

For most people it may appear to be completely out of my character to love tattoos as much as i do, but for the few who know me well, know that i’ve been longing to have one (or two or three, actually) for a while now.  Tattoos are one of those things you either like or you don’t.  This photo is just one of my favourites that i’ve found on the net that i’m seriously considering. It’s Hebrew and means “here am I” or i.e “at your service” and it is what Samuel and Isaiah said to God when he called them. The significance of having it on my wrist further implies the desire to be of service; to God and to people.  For me it’s also a tribute to self-acceptance which has taken me a long time.  It proclaims to myself and the world that this is me, this is who i am.   Then i’d like to have one of my girls initials.  And then another for the Hubby possibly.  What can i say, i love ink!
